Heartland REALTORS® Make Their Mark at NAR Realtor® Legislative Meetings in Washington D.C.

Last week, the Heartland REALTORS® made their presence felt in the nation's capital as they attended the highly anticipated NAR Realtor® Legislative Meetings. Consisting of the President, Sheri Wells, President Elect, Jackie Randle, and AE (Association Executive), Laura Tilley, the delegation engaged in a whirlwind of activities aimed at advancing key issues affecting their members and the real estate industry as a whole.

The itinerary was packed with insightful sessions and forums, beginning with the Federal Legislative & Political Forum featuring notable figures like Trey Gowdy and Joe Cunningham. These sessions provided valuable insights into the current political landscape and offered a platform for discussing critical legislative matters affecting real estate professionals.

Board Forums were also on the agenda, allowing the Heartland REALTORS® to delve deeper into the specific needs and concerns of their members. Discussions revolved around identifying relevant issues and resources necessary to support the thriving real estate community they represent. Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to learn about NAR's latest initiative, "The Advocacy Scoop" podcast, which offers valuable insights and tips on effective advocacy.

A highlight of the meetings was the REALTOR Party Election Preview, where attendees gained valuable insights into upcoming elections and their potential impact on real estate policies and regulations. Moreover, the Residential Economic Trends & Issues forum provided a comprehensive overview of the current market dynamics and emerging trends shaping the industry.

Beyond the conference halls, the Heartland REALTORS® embarked on a memorable trip to Capitol Hill, where they engaged in fruitful discussions with representatives and fellow REALTORS. These meetings served as a platform for exchanging information, advocating for property rights, small businesses, and homeownership, while also strengthening bonds within the real estate community. This was the highlight of our time in DC.

Education was also a key component of the trip, with sessions such as "Bias Override: Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing" providing valuable insights into promoting diversity and inclusion within the industry.
