Broker Bay Launch
Over 200 Broker Firms representing about 15,000 agents have launched in Broker Bay this week. The Matrix integration was not fully configured on Tuesday November 15 until later that day which allows agents to identify which showing platform is used for a particular listing. The appropriate booking link icon appears at the top of the listing displays.l
When reconfiguring booking links, an error was made in the Showing Time link and that was not resolved until late Thursday afternoon.
NAR NXT Conference
NAR MLS Policy met last week and discussed the following recommendations:
Statewide Data Share PAG Report - includes guidelines for setting up data shares across MLS systems. There is no mandate to share data Statewide or otherwise, just recommendations on what should be considered when creating a share. These recommendations were approved by the NAR Directors
Listing Access Report - included best practices for ensuring access to view listings and courtesy guidelines for appointments, showings and lockbox access. NAR will publish resources and Professional Standards has added Standards of Practice to the Code of Ethics to address such situations.
Listing Exchange Policy - a proposal to merge the current IDX and VOW policies to remove duplicate language. This proposal is available for comment and a motion is expected to come to the May 2023 MLS Policy meeting.
NAR encourages individuals and organizations to promote the value of the REALTOR and the importance of buyer representation. As the industry faces legal and regulatory challenges, it is important that critics understand the nature of the real estate transaction and the fidiciary role that agents play in representing both buyers and sellers in transactions and how competition is fostered.
